Oil Boiler Servicing & Replacement

Carrying out an annual oil boiler service is more than just changing a nozzle, all oil boilers become less efficient over a 12 month period due to carbon deposits being laid down on all surfaces within the combustion process, the boiler should be stripped down thoroughly cleaned and/or vacuumed, all internal surfaces should be inspected for wear and tear.

The burner should also be disassembled and cleaned, all key components checked for condition, nozzle replaced. If the boiler is a condensing type then the condenser and condensate trap also require attention.

The oil tank and fuel pipelines are often overlooked, a visual inspection generally all that is needed but fuel filters should be checked and replaced if necessary.

Once completed the boiler should be test run and a flue gas analysis carried out with a printout of the results left with the customer.

The Warranty is for OFTEC registered technicians and the scheme covers the cost of rectifying any defective work directly attributable to the installation work which falls within the building regulations outlined in the certificate. The householder may be able to claim for rectification work if the original OFTEC installer is no longer trading. The warranty lasts for six years from the date OFTEC receives job notification and is fully transferable if the property is sold during this period.
